Coffee Drinks To Make With Extra Colombian Coffee

Posted on

If you order a large, 2-pound bag of whole bean Colombian coffee, you're going to have plenty of it. You may want to drink some of it as simple, drip coffee with milk and sugar in it, but at some point, this might get boring. Here are some coffee drinks you can make with drip coffee. They all taste excellent when made with whole bean Colombian coffee, thanks to its mild and balanced flavor.

Cinnamon Mocha

This drink tastes lovely on a cool winter day. It's a good one for people who don't like a strong coffee flavor as the cinnamon and chocolate tone down the coffee to some degree. To make one cinnamon mocha, you need:

  • 8 ounces hot drip coffee
  • 1 tablespoon hot chocolate mix
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cream
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar

Combine the hot chocolate mix, cinnamon, cream, and white sugar in the bottom of a mug. Pour in the hot coffee, and stir until the sugar and hot chocolate mix dissolve. Let cool slightly, and enjoy.

Honey Bun

Affectionately called the Honey Bun, this coffee drink is sweet and enjoyable. It's made with skim milk, but you could substitute almond or cashew milk if you want to make a vegan version. You'll need:

  • 6 ounces drip coffee
  • 3 ounces skim milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons clover honey — preferably raw
  • a tiny drop of caramel extract

Pour the drip coffee into a mug. Add the honey, and stir well. It sometimes takes a little while to dissolve. Once the honey has dissolved, stir in the milk and caramel extract. The honey pairs especially well with mild Colombian coffee.

Evening Mint Coffee

This is an alcoholic coffee drink that you'll want to enjoy in the evening. It's great for waking you up before a big night out, or for keeping your energy levels high during a party. If you don't like mint, you could always make it with a different liqueur. You'll need:

  • 4 ounces drip Colombian coffee
  • 2 ounces half and half
  • 1 shot vanilla vodka
  • 1 tablespoon mint liqueur

Combine all of the above ingredients in a mug, and stir. Let cool slightly, sip, and enjoy.

The next time you have extra Colombian coffee, maybe from a 2-pound bag, try making one or more of the coffee drinks above. They are all delicious in their own way, and they are all worth enjoying.
